I will talk about the new 4-2-2-2 custom tactics for you to use in the Weekend League in EA FC 24. These tactics are very valid, so you can use them at any time in the game. So if you have plenty of EA FC 24 Coins, let's get straight into the tactics.

Custom Tactics

Defensive Style is balanced as always, nothing too special about that.

Width is on 50, really balanced.

Depth is on 60. We don’t have it on 71 for the outdoor offside traps because I don’t really like it in this formation. So I think 60 is the right number so that your defensive line won’t drop too deep into your own box but also won’t be too high. I think that’s the right balance in this formation.

Build Up Play is on balance as well.

Chance Creation is on Direct Passing, so your players are making better runs in the box.

Players In Box on 5, so we got our 4 attacking players—the 2 Strikers and the 2 Wide Cams. And then one of our CDMs can join if they want, or one of our Full Backs, whoever wants to be there. So that’s why we got it on 5.

Corners and Free Kicks are personal preference. It doesn’t really matter which formation you use. I’ve got them both on 2 in this formation.

Instructions

Then let’s get into the Instructions:

For Goalkeeper, Center Backs, I don’t think I really touch the center-backs and goalkeeper in any information, you can just leave them.

Then the Full Backs will be on stay back while attacking so that they don’t really clash with your wingers. Everyone keeps their space. Of course, if you want, let them push up by using the L1 button to trigger them after a pass or in general. If you pass with L1 + X, your player will continue making a run forward. So that way, you can still let them be involved in the attack.

For Attacking Mid, both our CDMs will be on Stay Back while attacking and cover center. They will be on Stay Back, but actually, they won’t. They will just be around the box. It’s just that they don’t really clash with your Strikers, so they don’t run into the same space. But they’ll still be there around the box to take some good long shots and to feed the Strikers some great passes.

Right-left CAM will be on comeback on defense, and the rest will be on balance. This just gives them the freedom to do what they want. And if you want to send them on a run, of course, as I just said with the fullbacks as well, you can just press L1. And if you want to call them, sure, you can press R1 for the combinations on the wings together with the Full Back.

As Strikers will be on comeback on defense as well for the same reason. I think when you got them, for example, getting behind, they’ll still do the same things. They’re just getting behind. I want them to have some variation. So that’s why I chose nothing on them, everything on balanced. But they have to come back on defense, of course, because we don’t want to concede goals. And, as always, be ready for counter attacks.
